Ballybunion Town is located in the south-west of Ireland in County Kerry. Situated on the Atlantic Coast, Ballybunion is a popular seaside resort.

History of Ballybunion

The seaside resort of Ballybunion is beautifully located overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. The area is known for surfing and swimming and boasts of two Blue Flag beaches. Standing at the end of the main beach in the town is the remains of the 16th century Fitzmaurice Castle, the 12m high East wall is all that remains. Ballybunnion is probably best known today for its golf course, Ballybunion Golf Club, which is one of the best links course in the world.
