Woodford is located in the West of Ireland in County Galway. Situated between the River Shannon and the Slieve Aughty mountains.


History of Woodford

A small peaceful village set among beautiful countryside. Woodford is set in a beautiful wooded area with the Slieve Aughty Mountains in the background. In the area Wilfred Scawen Blunt was arrested in 1887 for organising a Mass Protest of the tenants on the Clanricarde estates. His book In Vinculis describes his experiences.
