Doonbeg Village is located in the West of Ireland in County Clare. Standing on the Doonbeg River this picturesque village has plenty to offer the visitor.
History of Doonbeg
Doonbeg Village was developed around Doonbeg Castle which was built in the 16th century for the Earl of Thomond, Daniel O'Brien. Most of the castle has come down but the north-western corner is still standing. Dividing the village is an architecturally significant seven-arched stone bridge over the Doonbeg River.
